Grab & Go Activity: Mardi Gras Masks

Mardi Gras is celebrated throughout the world. In the United States, Mardi Gras is an official holiday in the state of Louisiana. There people celebrate with parades and dressing up in bright costumes and masks. For today's craft you will make your own Mardi Gras mask! Popular colors used are purple green and gold. Purple represents justice, green represents faith, and gold represents power.

In the Grab & Go Kit:

  • ​Mask
  • Feathers
  • Jewels
  • Glitter
  • Ribbon​
At home:

  • ​​Markers
​ INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Use the images above and from the National Geographic video to inspire you.
  2. Decorate your mask using the materials in the kit and items you have at home.
  3. Enjoy your mask!

El Martes de Carnaval se celebra en todo el mundo. En los Estados Unidos, El Martes de Carnaval es oficialmente un día festivo en el estado de Louisiana. Allí la gente celebra con desfiles y se disfraza con disfraces y máscaras brillantes. Para la manualidad de hoy, harás tu propia máscara de Martes de Carnaval . Los colores más utilizados son el verde, morado y el dorado. El morado representa la justicia, el verde representa la fe y el dorado representa el poder.

Materiales para llevar a casa:

  • Plumas
  • Joyeria
  • Goma con brillo
  • Cinta​​​

PROCEDIMIENTO:

  1. Usa las imágenes de arriba y el video de National Geographic para inspirarse.
