Grab & Go Activity: Snow Globe Art with the ArtBase

This week's Grab & Go Activity is all about snow! Do the snow dance with your new snow globe art! 

Supplies Provided

• Mason Jar
  
• Small figurines
  
• Assorted rocks
  
• Assortment of sequins
  
• Mounting squares
  
• Putty (for attaching figurines)
  
• Photos with examples
  
• Half-circle foam piece
  
• Small container of glycerin
  

Supplies you may have at home

• Water
  
• Hot Glue Gun
  
• Other fun items to include in your jar
  

​Instructions:

1. Take the lid off of your mason jar. The two-part lid should be glued together already. Turn this upside down. 
2. Find the other supplies and decide how you will organize your figurines and rocks to the lid. Will you use the half-circle or keep your design flat on the lid?
3. If you have other figurines or items you’d like in your jar, now is the time to add those. 
4. At this point, attach your pieces to the lid using hot glue if you have this, mounting squares or the putty. 
5. In the jar, dump the container of sequins.
6. Add water to your jar and then add the small container of glycerin.
7. Once the figurines have dried or are secured to your lid, turn the lid upside down and screw onto the jar. 
8. If you have hot glue, secure the lid with the glue either on the outside or inside of lid. 
9. Turn jar upside down and watch your glitter and sequins float around!

• Pieza de espuma en forma de semicírculo
  
• Recipiente pequeño de glicerina
  

Materiales que puedes tener en casa

• Agua
  
• Pistola de silicona caliente
  
• Otros detalles divertidos para incluir en tu frasco
  

1. Quita la tapa de tu frasco de vidrio. Las dos partes de la tapa ya deberían estar pegadas. Dale la vuelta a esto.
2. Encuentra los otros materiales y decide cómo organizarás las figuras y las rocas en la tapa. ¿Usarás el semicírculo o mantendrás tu diseño plano en la tapa?
3. Si tienes otras figuras o elementos que te gustaría incluir en tu frasco, ahora es el momento de agregarlos.
4. En este punto, fija tus piezas a la tapa usando silicona caliente, si la tienes, los cuadros de montaje o la masilla.
5. En el frasco, vierte el recipiente de lentejuelas.
6. Agrega agua a tu frasco y luego agrega el recipiente pequeño de glicerina.
7. Una vez que las figuras se hayan secado o estén aseguradas a tu tapa, dale vuelta la tapa y apriétala en el frasco.
8. Si tienes silicona caliente, asegura la tapa con la silicona en el exterior o el interior de la tapa.
9. ¡Voltea el frasco boca abajo y observa cómo flotan tus brillos y lentejuelas!
