One-time or Monthly Giving
There are many ways to provide support for the BRL. Monetary donations may provide for a specific need of the Library, such as Caldecott or Newbery Award books; books in honor of a friend, mentor, or child; or a magazine subscription of particular interest. Contributions may also provide additional program support including literacy for children and adults; book clubs and author talks; music, art and film series; and community outreach.
Donations of all sizes are welcome and appreciated, and are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Basalt Regional Library is recognized as a tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 170(c)1.
Other Ways to Support BRL
The Library joins with Basalt Area Gives in encouraging Basalt property owners to donate a portion of their TABOR refund checks to local nonprofits. These organizations support the health, education, environment and cultural lives of the Roaring Fork Valley, and through this coordinated effort, we will create a lasting legacy for our community. In fact, you may choose to donate directly to the Basalt Regional Library by sending a check to 14 Midland Avenue Basalt 81621 and note “Basalt Gives” on the check. Your donation will support our programming for children and adults, readers, music lovers, film goers and escape room aficionados -- literally something for everyone! And our programs are always free of charge. Please consider the Basalt Regional Library in your Basalt Area Gives contribution. Click here for more info.
You can choose Basalt Regional Library Foundation as your charity on Amazon. When you do, a small portion of your purchase will be donated to support our library. Add us as your charity of choice today!
Basalt Regional Library Foundation Events
The Foundation presents author conversations throughout the year in addition to the annual spring Garden Tour. All proceeds from Foundation events support the book collections of the Library. Please watch for announcements of upcoming events on our website and monthly calendars.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library are community volunteers responsible for combing through all the books, CDs and DVDs donated to the Library. They collect, price, shelve and sell these items to raise funds for the purchase of new books and for the Library “Wish List”.
The Friends’ Book Store sells these high quality used books, CDs and DVDs for adults, young adults, and children. Please visit the Book Store on your way into the Library and check out the Book of the Month sale. Our books make great gifts!
Book, CD and DVD Donations
Throughout the year, the Friends of the Library accept donations of books, CDs and DVDs that are in good condition. One box per patron at a time, please! Please check with the Circulation Desk to see when donations will be accepted, or contact us at 970-927-4311.
There are many opportunities for volunteers at the Library, including behind-the-scenes, as a Friend, and for special events. Please click here if you are interested. We look forward to seeing you soon!
