Strategic Plan
November 2019-December 2022
The Library Board and Director embarked on a strategic planning process in October of 2018 in order to understand how the Basalt Regional Library could better serve the community. A committee of Board members and library advocates was formed to gather community feedback on programs and services. In addition to collecting input via web-based surveys, the committee also conducted nineteen focus groups. These “community conversations” included people in all age and demographic ranges. Focus groups also included conversations with local educators and schools, non-profit organizations, valley-wide libraries and community leaders, to further explore mutually beneficial synergies valuable to the community.
The level of community engagement was significant: the Committee listened and learned from hundreds of stakeholders and community members. To those of you who participated, we deeply appreciate your time and ideas!

These priorities are described in the Strategic Plan, which was approved by the Library Board in late 2019. As the Library works through this three-year plan, we thank you for your ongoing input so that we may continue to evolve and meet the community’s changing needs.
