Calling all witches and wizards for potions class. Experiment with ingredients to create a magical, SLIMY mess! Slime is delightfully oozy and is also a fantastic tool for sensory play for your kiddos. Have them help you measure out each ingredient and watch the slime form. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to provide the materials for this week’s craft (shaving cream and glue are tricky to contain in a paper bag!), so below our “Fluffy Slime” recipe we have included a link for alternative slime recipes with materials that may be more readily available at home. Materials: Instructions: Step One: Measure out the glue, water, baking soda, and food coloring of your choosing all into one large bowl. Make sure to mix well! (Keep in mind that the shaving cream will dilute the color once it is added.)
Create a magical unicorn wand with a colorful ribbon mane! This craft is adapted from the Tombow USA Blog. We have simplified the craft so that you can decorate the unicorn using materials you likely already have at home. Check out the original version of this craft here. Be the architect of your own Fairy Tale Castle! Make it big and strong, and then put it to the test. Will it be sturdy enough to withstand a catapult attack? Materials:
Instructions: Decorate Your Castle: Use the materials you have on hand at home to construct a castle. If you are using cardboard, try folding back two flaps to make a three-sided castle. Use scissors and paint or markers to create castle features, such as battlements with crenels and merlons. Want to know what those funky words mean? We recommend visiting www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/castles/defence to learn all about castles. If you don't have cardboard at home, use Legos and other toys to build castle walls and turrets! Build Your Catapult: Step One: Make a stack of seven Popsicle sticks and use rubber bands to secure the Popsicle sticks together on both ends of the stack.
